In the spring of 1982, the rising English pop band XTC played a show in San Diego, California. This was years before their irresistibly melodic hit singles “Dear God,” “Senses Working Overtime” or “The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead.” It was years before critics would declare XTC’s 1986 album “Skylarking” to be a psychedelic pop masterpiece.
