The brand new VHS Social Club, which launched last weekend, leans heavy into 80s nostalgia in order to bring people back to the neighborhood. Located at 520 South Front Street in the spot once occupied by acclaimed restaurant Handke’s Cuisine, the VHS Social Club preserves much of the historic low-ceiling charm of the slightly-below-street-level space.

This weekend, one local art gallery is going through multiple changes. Formerly known as Brandt-Roberts Galleries in the Short North, the business will be reborn as Brandt Galleries in Downtown Columbus. And along with the name and location changes comes a brand new in-gallery space dedicated to allowing visiting artists a place to create. “Pecha Projects is a space designed to feature culturally significant exhibitions with a curatorial focus,” explained gallery owned Michelle Brandt.
