Despite the name, there’s really not a lot of Italian dining options located in the Italian Village neighborhood. Thankfully, new restaurant Metsi’s adds a +1 in that column with its grand opening taking place on Friday. Metsi is the fourth concept from chef BJ Lieberman, following Chapman’s, Ginger Rabbit and Hiraeth. It’s also the second restaurant to be housed at 36 E Lincoln Street, following the closure of Hiraeth last year.

Revised data released Thursday show the situation’s even worse than that. While 191 closings were originally reported for 2024, the pharmacy board on Thursday revised that number 13% upward, to 215.
