The 1126 Restaurant will close up shop by the end of the week. The Japanese and sushi joint announced last week on social media that its final day of business will be May 18. The closure comes nearly seven years after the restaurant’s debut in the summer of 2018 at 1126 N. High St. “After 6 incredible years, The 1126 Restaurant will be permanently closed,” according to an Instagram post. “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience, and grateful for your support, kindness, and memories.

Downtown Population and Employment Numbers Up in 2024

Downtown Columbus is home to 12,500 people, up from 12,000 a year ago, according to the latest count by the The Capital Crossroads & Discovery District Special Improvement Districts (SID). The group’s annual report, released earlier this week, also showed that the total number of people employed Downtown was up, from a little over 88,000 to 92,327.

Liberty St., formerly Gallup’s Bar & Kitchen, Liberty Social opened its doors on April 26. The restaurant has a full bar with lunch and dinner throughout the week and brunch on the weekends. The space is two levels and can seat up to 240 people. The upper level features a full bar and will be available for parties.
