COTA to Study Feasibility of Eliminating Fares

The Central Ohio Transit Authority is looking into the idea of eliminating fares on its buses. Earlier this week, the agency’s board approved spending up to $320,000 on a “No-Fare Feasibility Study,” to be performed by a California-based company called Four Nines Technologies.
Development Plan Submitted for Spaghetti Warehouse Site

The Downtown Commission will soon get a chance to weigh in on the design of a proposed development on the former Spaghetti Warehouse site. The board approved the demolition of the large brick building that held the restaurant for over 40 years in October, and the structure was taken down in February. The latest plan for the site, which was submitted to the city in advance of the commission meeting on April 22, calls for two seven-story buildings that would hold a total of 250 apartments.

The brand new VHS Social Club, which launched last weekend, leans heavy into 80s nostalgia in order to bring people back to the neighborhood. Located at 520 South Front Street in the spot once occupied by acclaimed restaurant Handke’s Cuisine, the VHS Social Club preserves much of the historic low-ceiling charm of the slightly-below-street-level space.

Formerly known as Brandt-Roberts Galleries in the Short North, the business will be reborn as Brandt Galleries in Downtown Columbus. Sourdough Pizza Shop Debuts in UA Community Center

A slice of pizza on a random Monday morning turned into an unexpected business plan for David Hunegnaw and a couple of friends. Sourdough Pizza Bros is a fast-casual pizza concept that uses slow-fermented dough. The shop launched yesterday inside the Bob Crane Community Center’s Core Café, located on the building’s first floor. The café is presented by local bakery Bake Me Happy and will feature grab-and-go meals, drinks and pastries, in addition to the sourdough pizza.
