The temperature at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, where official numbers are recorded, read 100 degrees at 4 p.m. Monday. The heat index at that time hit 107 degrees, with relative humidity at 35%. The 100-degree temperature ties the record set at RDU on the same exact date, June 23, last year. Just like this year, that date was also the first time the area hit triple digits in 2024. A total of 10 100-degree days were recorded at the airport last year.
