Lubbock, Texas used to be even more socially conservative than it is now. Believe it or not, Lubbock has loosened up a bit. We do have a share of pearl-clutchers and people who "know what's good for you", but we've kind of quit listening to them. So what happened? Well, the world, the internet, and life happened to Lubbock. It's impossible to keep a shroud over the town the way it was in the old days.

Lubbock, Texas will play host to comedian Gabriel Iglesias this Friday!Did you know there are some comedians who insist on playing rooms with "low ceilings"? Well, they may not insist on it, but they prefer it. Some comedians just swear playing clubs with low ceilings makes for better comedy because it prefers the acoustics and the audience can hear what the comedian is saying better. Most comedians also prefer wide rooms, with as many people up front as possible.

Texas weather can be brutal and we're in one of the worst seasons. Talk about well-timed advertising. I heard one of my radio station's sponsors talking about hail repair. They must know their business, because it is certainly "hail season" in Texas. This is the time of the year that you are most likely to experience a hail storm. These storms are, of course, of varying intensities, and even the little-bitty hail storms can do a lot of damage if they hit a target just right.

Lubbock, Texas is sleeping on one of the greatest opportunities ever!I certainly enjoy sifting through all the world records out there. It's also a little disappointing when I see a record that should totally belong to the State Of Texas and someone else has captured it elsewhere. Where's the state pride? I have a record that I would think would be completely "up for grabs" for Texas, and for Lubbock in particular. As you may know Texas Tech students throw tortillas during games.

Lubbock is near a measles outbreak and there's something you should know. Take everything you know about contagious diseases and just throw it out the window. Measles is incredibly contagious. You would think if you aren't around someone with red bumps or that you just wash your hands enough, you would be in the clear, but you're not. Now Everything Lubbock is reporting that ,measles is making it's way through a daycare.
