CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Jazz Appreciation Month was celebrated across the United States in April, and nowhere was it more appropriate than here in North Carolina. That’s because John Coltrane, the most influential jazz artist in music history, was born and raised in North Carolina. CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Presley Rhodes first learned she was being impersonated online five years ago. In an Instagram message, a man told her he had connected with a woman on Tinder who called herself Emily Thawe, and they soon began chatting through what the woman said was her Instagram account. The conversation turned so vulgar that he eventually became suspicious. A reverse Google search of the woman’s face led him to Rhodes’ Instagram account.
