There’s too much talk about the Denver Nuggets next year. What about the rest of this season? Ever since the bombshell decisions to fire head coach Michael Malone and GM Calvin Booth, it seems like all anyone wants to talk about is what’s next for the Nuggets. Who’s the next head coach? Who’s the new GM? Might either Jamal Murray or Michael Porter Jr. get traded? The time and place for those conversations will come. But let’s stop having them right now.

The Colorado Avalanche are in a good spot before their Round 1 series with the Dallas Stars begins this weekend. The Avs held an optional practice on Tuesday, and everyone was accounted for. That includes captain Gabriel Landeskog, who is back from his conditioning stint with the Colorado Eagles after playing two games over the weekend. Optional but looks like some pretty important players will skate today who missed some of the last few games.

The Colorado Rockies are putting Kris Bryant on the IL. Again. Bryant has played in only 170 of a possible 501 games with the Rockies since signing a massive seven-year deal worth $182 million in the spring of 2022. And this injury doesn’t sound good at all, one that you have to wonder if it could possibly jeopardize the majority of yet another season. I'm hearing that #Rockies    DH Kris Bryant has lumbar degenerative disk disease and will go to the 10-day IL. Not sure what the treatment plan is.

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog has scored 248 regular season goals in his NHL career. On Saturday night, he got one in the AHL. Landeskog found the net for the Colorado Eagles in Loveland, helping them tie the game with the Henderson Silver Knights 3-3 and eventually win in a shootout. It was Landeskog’s second game in two nights, once he made his return to competitive hockey after 1,020 days off the ice on Friday night at Blue Arena.

Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog made his return to competitive hockey on Friday night with the Colorado Eagles. And it had been a process nearly three years in the making, or 1,020 days. The last time Landeskog played was with the Avs in the summer of 2022, when they won the Stanley Cup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Landeskog had multiple knees surgeries, including a cartilage replacement transplant in May of 2023.

Please quit quote tweeting and retweeting obviously fake accounts looking for engagement about the next Nuggets head coach. They’re very clearly focused on the rest of this season and then that process will begin. Thanks.

A new title for Josh Kroenke, even if it's temporary. He's going hands on the rest of the season, and I like it.

Sources: Denver Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke will serve as interim president of basketball operations with assistance from front office personnel in Ben Tenzer and Tommy Balcetis. A thorough GM search is expected in the offseason.
