A Memorial Day early morning shooting at Cascades Park has left two people injured. Shortly after 4 a.m. on May 26, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a call about a drive-by shooting near the city's crown jewel park in the 1000 block of South Gadsden Street. While the investigation is in its preliminary phases, a TPD Watch Commander told the Democrat that officers determined the incident was not a drive-by shooting.

A fatal wreck on Interstate 10 in northeast Tallahassee has left one person dead, three people in critical condition and one person seriously injured, according to a preliminary report by the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP's Cpl. P.J. Shaw said the accident involved two vehicles with a rollover at about 8:45 p.m. Friday and has closed all westbound lanes at mile marker 205 and traffic is backed up in both directions.

A large crowd gathered in the FAMU Way Playground near Railroad Square became a scene of chaos and gunfire the night of May 2. It happened less than an hour after the conclusion of the Square's monthly "First Friday" event, which celebrates the arts at the opening of each month. Lt. Robin Abney, a watch commander for the Tallahassee Police Department, told the Democrat that the department was called to the area at about 9:50 p.m. with reports of shots fired.
