A haunting image of a grieving Palestinian woman embracing her little niece, killed in an Israeli strike in war-torn Gaza, won the 2024 World Press Photo of the Year Award Thursday. The picture taken by Reuters news agency's Mohammed Salem shows Inas Abu Maamar cradling the body of five-year-old Saly, who was killed with her mother and sister when a missile hit their home in Khan Younis in October.

Tanzanian singer Zuchu recently excited her fans after she posed a marriage question to Diamond Platnumz during a recent live performance. The incident took place at the Pangani Kunono event held at Pangani grounds on April 16. Zuchu surprised Diamond and her fans by altering the lyrics of their collaborative song 'Watasubiri.'In a video shared by Wasafi on April 17, the duo intimately danced together on stage and while exchanging looks as they sang together.

There were mixed reactions after popular disc jockey Joe Mfalme was set free, while his close ally and hypeman Allan Ochieng, popularly known as Hype Ballo, remained in custody after an altercation that allegedly resulted in a fatality. In his words as he walked a free man, Joe noted that his time behind bars threw him into a spiral of deep thoughts. While the spin master was off the hook to testify as a state witness, Hype Ballo remained detained to answer to charges.
