1 INTRODUCTION Web-based phylogenetics applications have become increasingly popular, concomitant with a general increase in web-based bioinformatics applications. They offer notable benefit for the accessibility and scale of phylogenetic analysis. For example, Nextstrain makes the results of ongoing genomic epidemiology analyses accessible to non-expert users through a web-based interface (Hadfield et al., 2018).
