Police have cordoned off the Kings Road area of Portobello beach (Image: Archive) RESIDENTS are being urged to stay in their homes after a “potentially suspicious item” was found at Edinburgh’s Portobello beach. Police have cordoned off the area opposite the junction of Kings Road and Kings Place, Portobello, and are urging members of the public to avoid the area. Officers were called out to the popular tourist spot at around 9.50am on Tuesday morning.
