1. IntroductionDiabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most formidable challenges confronting public health in the 21st century, affecting millions worldwide. DM, a metabolic disorder marked by chronic hyperglycemia, stems from either a deficiency in insulin production or the body’s inability to use insulin effectively. This imbalance disrupts normal glucose metabolism, leading to a wide range of complications if not adequately managed.
