CLINTON, Md. (DC News Now) — A church in Prince George’s County is hosting a community baby shower and resource fair for expecting mothers and families on Saturday in partnership with MedStar Health. On April 12 at 10 a.m., dozens of mothers, fathers, and loved ones are expected to enter the doors of Clinton Baptist Church to be showered in knowledge, resources, and essential supplies for maternal health. More than 30 non-profits will be available, including free health screenings.

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) –Washington Capitals fans scrambled to the new “Ovi Shop” Monday morning after Capitals’ player Alex Ovechkin scored his 895th career goal on Sunday. This makes Ovechkin the National Hockey League’s all-time-leading scorer. “I got off a flight from Spain last night. So I’ve been up since 3:30, jet lagged, and I saw the store was opening and just jumped on the Metro, and I opened that door,” said Capitals fan Mary Joslidell. Joslidell was the first person to enter the store.
