    I hope you're prepared to suffer! It looks like New Yorkers are gearing up for a pretty miserable summer. Maybe it's climate change, maybe New York is the new hell. The Old Farmer's Almanac makes predictions for each season in each region, and New York's isn't looking real appealing. While I have always hated New York (Buffalo to be exact) winters, I do love the "mild" summers. By mild, I mean compared to the infernos of the southwest and south.

    Police in Allegany County were busy this past month. There were 14 people arrested. One of those arrests is a high-profile crime in which two New York State Police Troopers were injured. Two parents were arrested yesterday, June 15, 2025, in neighboring Stueben County. According to the Wellsville Sun, a person saw a baby crawling out of a second-story window on the roof.     New York lawmakers have been pretty busy when it comes to banning items that pose a threat to residents and the environment. In recent years, plastic bags, plastic to-go utensils, food with red dye, and single-use hotel toiletries have been banned or had strict rules placed on their use. Now, lawmakers have their sights set on a popular kitchen utensil that makes cooking easier but may be toxic. Even the federal government has gotten into banning things that pose threats to New Yorkers' health.

    If you get caught speeding on any of these 18 roads in New York State this week, you will get an automatic speeding ticket. There are work zones where drivers will be automatically fined for speeding between today and Friday, June 20, 2025. New York Vehicle & Traffic Law § 1180-E allows for automated speed monitoring in certain construction zones around the state.
