4.2. Experiment on Urban RoadsTo validate our planning algorithm, we selected two high-traffic areas featuring schools and hospitals. In Table 3, we show the four sets of starting point locations that were selected for lane-level planning and path comparison based on the A* algorithm for urban roads, respectively. In Figure 4a–h, we visualize the four sets of planned paths. As can be seen from the figure, our algorithm integrated lane-changing risk, road scalability, road length, and comfort.
