AbstractMany endangered species live in fragmented and isolated populations with low genetic variability, signs of inbreeding, and small effective population sizes - all features elevating their extinction risk. The flat-headed loach (Oreonectes platycephalus), a small noemacheilid fish, is widely across southern China, but only in the headwaters of hillstreams; as a result, they are spatially isolated from conspecific populations.

AbstractWith global warming currently standing at approximately +1.2 °C since pre-industrial times, climate change is a pressing global issue. Marine cloud brightening is one proposed method to tackle warming through injecting aerosols into marine clouds to enhance their reflectivity and thereby planetary albedo. However, because it is unclear how aerosols influence clouds, especially cloud cover, both climate projections and the effectiveness of marine cloud brightening remain uncertain.

1 Introduction Liver cirrhosis is a global problem that imposes a tremendous health and economic burden on many countries.[1] Liver transplantation is the only curative therapy for cirrhosis, which is limited by the shortage of organ donors.[2] Hepatic fibrosis is a crucial pre-stage and reversible pathological process during the progression of cirrhosis.[3] Early intervention is essential to stabilize disease progression.[4] Although there is no standard and effective treatment for liver...
