EL CENIZO, Tex. (KGNS) - A viewer video shows a car driving through deep water in El Cenizo on Thursday afternoon, May 8. The video was taken around 3:30 p.m. as heavy rain hit the area. You can see muddy water flowing fast across the road. Police and weather crews are warning people to stay safe. Do not try to drive through water. It may look shallow but can be very dangerous. For emergencies, residents are advised to call 911. More rain may fall later tonight. Stay alert and watch for updates.

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The main weather story today will once again be the chance of thunderstorms this afternoon which could be strong to severe. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats with heavy rainfall and localized flooding. Highest storm chances will be over the southern half of the area. Temperatures will be near normal. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight. Storms should generally move out of the area by very early Friday morning.
