AbstractIon selective membranes are fundamental components of biological, energy, and computing systems. The fabrication of solid-state ultrathin membranes that can separate ions of similar size and the same charge with both high selectivity and permeance remains a challenge, however. Here, we present a method, utilizing the application of a remote electric field, to fabricate a high-density of (sub)nm pores in situ.

AbstractPerovskite tandem solar cells show promising performance, but non-radiative recombination and its progressive worsening with time, especially in the mixed Sn–Pb low-bandgap layer, limit performance and stability. Here we find that mixed Sn–Pb perovskite thin films exhibit a compositional gradient, with an excess of Sn on the surface—and we show this gradient exacerbates oxidation and increases the recombination rate.

Computer-aided synthesis planning (CASP) has garnered increasing attention in light of recent advancements in machine learning models. While the focus is on reverse synthesis or forward outcome prediction, optimizing reaction conditions remains a significant challenge. For datasets with multiple variables, the choice of descriptors and models is pivotal. This selection dictates the effective extraction of conditional features and the achievement of higher prediction accuracy.

ORIGINAL UNEDITED MANUSCRIPTThe boron was searched at zero pressure and then we tested our method at high pressure. Here we take lithium, the lightest metal with a lot of complex high-pressure phases, under 50GPa as an example. At this pressure, the stable phase of lithium is cI16 at 0K and unknown at about 260K [47], which may be energetically competitive to cI16 at zero temperature. For this purpose, we performed searches in a relatively large range number of atoms from 4 to 40.
