One person was hurt and a dog died in a house fire in Miami Gardens on Wednesday, the family confirmed to NBC6. It happened at a home in the 15200 block of Northwest 33rd Avenue, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Authorities took one person to the hospital but said that their injuries were not burn-related. More information on that person's condition was not immediately available. Firefighters were able to get the flames under control, but family confirmed that a dog named Chleo did not survive.

A death investigation is underway in Miami Gardens early Wednesday. Several streets were closed near Northwest 214th Street and 2nd Avenue after police responded to the scene at around 2 a.m.Video showed a yellow tarp at the scene, which typically is used to cover a body. A witness said it apparently started with an argument that escalated into gunfire. "Some people got thrown out a bar. So after that, they started fighting outside," the witness said.
