    War memorial flower bed vandalised in Ventnor (Image: IWCP) A man in his 20s has been arrested after a vehicle was damaged and a war memorial flower bed vandalised on the Isle of Wight last night (Tuesday, May 13). Hampshire and IW Constabulary were alerted shortly after 10pm to reports of a 'man shouting and damaging a vehicle'. The incident happened on Park Avenue, outside Ventnor Park.

The affected section of the High Street – between Castlehold Lane and St James’ Square (from Correo Lounge to Tesco Express) – closes from today to Friday, May 16. Winning the toss, the visitors elected to bat first at Steephill and posted a competitive total of 261 for five from their allotted 50 overs.
