Former Michigan defensive lineman Alessandro Lorenzetti committed to Baylor on Friday afternoon. In three years with the Wolverines, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound senior didn’t play in a game, but was named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Week as a true freshman ahead of Michigan’s win over Michigan State in 2022. Lorenzetti has two years of eligibility left.

Well, he got it. The Pirates beat the Polar Bears 5-3 in the first game and won 19-0 in five-innings in the second game of the series to help the longtime coach get to 450 wins in his career, which has spanned more than three decades. “My first year, we were 0-14 and we won the very last game, and the kids were so excited,” Smith said.

NORMAN, Okla. — For the fifth year in a row, Baylor is headed to the NCAA Championship. The Bears finished fifth at the NCAA Norman Regional at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, shooting 2-over as a team in the third and final round, which was suspended by darkness on Tuesday, and finishing 3-over for the tournament. Top-ranked Stanford won the team title, finishing at 23-under for the tournament, and was followed by Northwestern, Michigan State and Oklahoma.

The first time Lillie Walker took the field with her travel ball team growing up outside of Tulsa, she very quickly realized where she stood. “I was definitely the worst player on the team,” she said. “I didn't know softball, didn't have the softball IQ and I still needed to grow into my athletic ability at that time.”Over a couple of seasons, Walker slowly but surely went from the worst on the team to the best.
