But the first one was a loud foul, so loud that the ball was returned to the box of game balls with a scar on it. So for a split second, Levi Curry thought he knew where the next one was headed without looking. kAm“{:DE6?[ 9@?6DE=J[ x H2D?’E 8@??2 H2E49 :E 3642FD6 x E9@F89E :E H2D ;FDE 8@??2 36 @G6C >J 9625[” {@82?’D 4@249 3682?

HUNTINGTON — Scott Shumate wasn’t ready for Huntington St. Joe’s baseball season to end, but he looks back fondly at the Irish’s accomplishments. “I hate when baseball season is over,” Shumate said after Gilmer County eliminated St. Joe 4-0 in the Class A Region 4 tournament on Monday. “All our players worked their butts off this season.”The Irish set a program record for wins in going 25-8 one season after posting a 12-18 mark in Shumate’s first campaign.

HUNTINGTON – Tug Valley sent top-seeded Huntington St. Joe the long way around in the Class A Region 4 baseball tournament bracket on Wednesday. And the Panthers threatened to finish what they started on Saturday. “They put in Mike Tyson on us in that first game,” Irish coach Scott Shumate cracked of the eighth-seeded Panthers’ 13-6 win at St. Joe earlier in the week. “It's like we were all shocked.”kAm%F8 '2==6J AFE E96 xC:D9 @?
