    Eduan Terblanche (53), who is accused of murdering his partner Stacey van Heerden (49) at a Mooi River hotel on May 28, was found dead inside a police van yesterday. According to The Witness, Terblanche was being transported from the Mooi River Magistrate’s Court to holding cells in Pietermaritzburg yesterday, shortly after his bail application was postponed. He was meant to return to court tomorrow for the continuation of his bail application.

    Weekend celebrations were marred by a series of violent incidents, with three separate stabbings resulting in murder. The first incident claimed the life of Nombulelo Ncamile (37) from Swapo B in Copesville, who was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday. It is alleged that Ncamile was consuming alcohol in her yard when she had an argument with an unknown person. According to family member, Dineo Lethena, they were asleep when they heard an argument but didn’t think it would take her life.
