If only they could have seen this comingLately, it feels like the past is uglier than ever for the Sacramento Kings. The days when fans ecstatically got to watch their team light the beam seem like ages ago, and many people are hunkering down for years of lackluster basketball. The front office isn't sitting still. DeRozan was originally dealt to Sacramento in July of 2024 via the sign-and-trade deal that sent Harrison Barnes to San Antonio.

Fans need to strap in for a bumpy ride. The NBA offseason hasn't even officially started yet, but we are already hearing tons of rumors about the Sacramento Kings. We recently reported on a potential trade for Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors, and there has been plenty of buzz around DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and others leaving the team. On Tuesday, basketball icon Paul Pierce made some noise when he suggested that the Kings pick up the phone and call the Denver Nuggets.
