Despite finishing the regular season 15-5 and fielding one of the NBA’s best offenses, the Chicago Bulls were (humiliatingly) ousted in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament for the third consecutive season. A bold move should be on the offseason horizon. After trudging through years of mediocrity, it's time for the Chicago Bulls to take a big swing. It's time to say goodbye to Josh Giddey and go hard after Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga. The simple and logical offseason plan to this point has begun with re-signing Giddey, who had a breakout season in Chicago. He blew past his previous career high of 33.7 percent to knock down 37.8 percent of his 4.0 3-pointers per game.

A borderline first-round pick in play at No. 12? The Chicago Bulls have a talented young backcourt with Josh Giddey (assuming he re-signs) and Coby White. They have a building block in the front court in Matas Buzelis. What the roster could use now is an infusion of young talent on the wing, and that could be accomplished if the Bulls grab Washington State's Cedric Coward with their 2025 NBA Draft lottery selection.

Kind of a dream scenario. The Chicago Bulls went from fielding an average offense in 2023-24 to one of the highest scoring ones in the NBA in 2024-25. A half-court scheme built around DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic scored 112.3 points per game two seasons ago, ninth-worst in the league. With DeRozan and Alex Caruso gone and Josh Giddey on board this season, Chicago Head Coach Billy Donovan flipped tactics to an up-tempo offense that leaned heavily on pace and three-point shooting.
