Adventure Bike Rider

Over the years, our website has evolved into the largest adventure riding community in the UK. When we factor in our social media followers, ABR stands as the premier authority and voice for adventure riding on a global scale. ABR was created for three main reasons: my enduring love for travel and motorcycles, the noticeable gap in the UK motorcycle media for a publication dedicated to the growing adventure bike market, and a motorcycle accident that limited my ability to pursue another passion of mine – mountain climbing.

I’m used to it by now.

The Himalayas rate among the most iconic adventure biking destinations in the world, and you can probably already see the images in your mind that give it that reputation. Towering, snow-capped mountains, gravel roads that hug the side of a cliff, deep valleys with turquoise rivers, passing colourful trucks adorned with prayer flags. If you’re lucky enough to have been there, the only problem is that you’ll never be able to shut up about it.

As adventure bikers, we all like a bit of off–road action on our adventure bikes, even if most of us spend the vast majority of our time riding on road. After all, that’s why the Bridgestone Trail at the ABR Festival is so popular. With over 50km of prime Warwickshire trails just beyond the front of your tent, it’s the perfect chance to find out just how competent you and your bike are on the rough stuff and hopefully, just how enjoyable off-road riding really is.

Crash bars and bash plates are popular accessories for adventure motorcyclists because they help protect vulnerable parts of your bike from expensive repair bills and the potential of trip-ending damage. But scratches and grazes are harder to protect against, whether you’re riding next to foliage on a green lane, behind someone that’s flinging loose stones from their rear wheel, or have a tumble in the carpark.
