BBC One Wales
BBC One Wales is a Welsh television channel that is freely available and operated by BBC Cymru Wales. It serves as the Welsh counterpart to the broader BBC One network across the UK and broadcasts from Central Square in Cardiff. The channel first went on the air on February 9, 1964, under the name BBC Cymru Wales. Each week, BBC One Wales offers approximately three hours of programming specifically for Wales, in addition to providing six hours of national news coverage from BBC Wales Today. From 6 am until about 1 am daily, viewers can see the BBC One Wales branding, with live announcements managed by a dedicated team of national announcers and directors. On January 29, 2013, a high-definition version of BBC One Wales was introduced on platforms like Freeview, Freesat, Sky, and Virgin Media. By December 10, 2013, the HD channel was made available in place of the standard definition version for Sky HD subscribers.
