    New data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed the latest figures on housing affordability in Cumbria, showing how property prices compare across the county. The figures highlight a significant divide between the two local authority areas - Cumberland Council and Westmorland and Furness Council - with affordability varying widely across the region. According to the data, the median house price in the Cumberland Council area stands at £165,000.

According to Environment Agency (EA) data, there were 38 reports of odour pollution in February 2025, including 21 in a single day. This follows 31 complaints in January, with more than 1,000 reports recorded in both 2023 and 2024.

However, Scope, the charity at which Ms Minns said she ‘campaigned for the rights of disabled people and improved accessibility’ has publicly condemned Labour’s plans for the biggest disability benefit cuts on record.
