Possible enforcement action is being sought to limit the number of HGVs which are using the A1088 through Norton, near Bury St Edmunds, overnight. A 7.5 tonne weight limit is operated on the route, with a permit required for hauliers who want to travel along the road. Residents have labelled the level of traffic overnight as "horrendous", with drivers using the route as a shortcut rather than the official diversion for the A14 resurfacing.
