Havebury Housing Partnership has submitted proposals for 40 properties in College Heath Road, Mildenhall. The land was previously used by Forest Heath District Council, prior to the formation of West Suffolk Council. Plans to demolish the building were given the go-ahead in 2022, after the offices shut its doors in the previous year.

Babergh District Council said heritage assets would not be harmed after Greggs was given the go-ahead for its proposals for its store in Market Hill, Sudbury. The chain first lodged its proposals for a refurbishment in April. It said the outside of the shop would be given a fresh lick of paint, while internal alterations would also be carried out. New floor, wall and ceiling finishes could be put in place. Electrics, lighting and plumbing works could also be carried out if approved.

The Vixen in Haverhill, on the town's Chalkstone estate, has been the subject of vandalism in recent weeks. But now the abandoned pub site, which was previously known as The Scarlett Pimpernell, could be transformed into a range of flats and commercial units. An application lodged with West Suffolk Council by Mr P Patel shows a second floor extension could be built to accommodate the nine flats.

A marquee could be erected in Charter Square, in arc Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds, over the Christmas period under new plans. Eden Crafts Ltd has lodged a premise licence application with West Suffolk Council, stating the 25m by 10m marquee would be in place from November 1 until December 21. It would have a capacity of 100 people, with a bar located at its entrance and table chairs for people to sit at.

Stef Perrin, from Bardwell, described the last few weeks as "very surreal" after her and her partner Bill's house was involved in a fire in April. The pair had been expecting their baby at the time of the blaze, but welcomed their daughter Peregrine last Thursday. "We are doing good," said Mrs Perrin. "It has been a bit of a crazy few weeks.
