Together Against Sizewell C (TASC) say the extra barriers were omitted from the original planning application granted development consent in 2022. The group has now filed legal claim against the plans, raising concerns that their construction could disrupt nearby protected areas of wildlife and whether other, less invasive flood defence options were pursued.

People in Lavenham will vote on whether the parish council should ask Suffolk County Council to implement a new restricted speed zone in part of the village. The zone would cost £24,065.46 if supported by residents. Under the proposed scheme, roads including Market Place, Church Street, Barn Street, High Street and Spring Street would be restricted to 20mph. It has been a long-running issue under consideration in the village near Sudbury.

Bar tabs give people the option of racking up a bill - before paying for it at the end of their meal or drinks - rather than purchasing each item individually. But The White Horse pub in Sudbury has decided to withdraw the option due to "ongoing issues". It said on social media: "Due to ongoing issues with unpaid tabs, we've made the tough decision to no longer offer tabs moving forward.

Jamie Oliver wants to convert a former stable block at his Spains Hall home, near Finchingfield, into a temporary bakery later this summer. In proposals sent to Braintree District Council, it states it would open over the month of August. It would open as a predominantly takeaway-led business, and operate for seven-days-a-week between 9am and 5pm. No physical alterations would be made. "The proposed use is expected to need three deliveries a week and six employees," the planning statement reads.

Primal 8 Health and wellbeing café first launched in Risbygate Street in Bury St Edmunds in 2021. But the company has confirmed it has now ceased trading. In a statement on their social media pages, a spokesperson said: "Primal 8 has officially ceased trading. "Thank you all for a great four years." As well as operating as a café, the premises sold a range of natural supplements, healthy snacks and drinks.
