Drivers in the nation's capital will see some much-needed relief at the pumps this week, with gas prices set to fall for a second straight day. According to Roger McKnight of En-Pro International Inc., gas prices are slated to drop by five cents per litre on Thursday, June 26, bringing the average cost of regular fuel down to 132.9 cents per litre-a nine-cent decrease over just two days. The latest cut follows a four-cent drop on Wednesday, when prices dipped from 141.9 cents per litre on Tuesday.

Environment Canada is predicting the humidity will climb over the weekend, resulting in extremely high temperatures on Sunday and into early next week. To kick off the weekend, the city is receiving a sunny, perfectly "normal" Friday with a high of 25 C. Two people are facing various charges in connection with adrug bust carried out by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). On June 19, officers from the street rime unit, canine unit and tactical and rescue unit executed a search warrant at a home on Hanesville Road in South Dundas Township, a small community south of Ottawa along The Seaway. Once inside the house, police found nearly 2.5 grams of suspected cocaine, more than nine grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and hundreds of tablets.

The City of Ottawa is warning motorists to plan ahead if they are travelling on Wellington Street at night over the next few weeks. The roadway will have several nighttime and weekend closures between O'Connor and Metcalfe from late June until the end of July. There are detours in place during the closures.
