A Canadian boycott of travel to the U.S. has prompted the governor of California to make a social media plea for them to come back. Governor Gavin Newsom's video message doesn't mention U.S. President Donald Trump by name but encourages Canadians to ignore Washington while returning to the Golden State for its wine, sun and surf. "Today we launched a new international campaign focused on encouraging Canadians to come visit the great state of California," Newsom said in the video.

It was only a matter of when, not if, Auston Matthews would continue to climb the NHL's all-time goals list. The Toronto Maple Leafs captain registered his 400th career goal in the third period against the Buffalo Sabres. After the Sabres pulled goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen with just over two minutes left in the game, Matthews got to a loose puck in the zone and fired a shot into the empty cage to notch the career milestone. With the goal, Matthews also joined elite company.

Additional long-term lane closures will take effect today on the Gardiner Expressway. As of Wednesday, the westbound Gardiner Express will be reduced from four lanes to three lanes east of Park Lawn Road to Grand Avenue. This lane closure will be in place until May 2026. Until November 2026, eastbound Gardiner Expressway lanes from Grand Avenue to east of Park Lawn Road will be narrowed but with no lane reductions.
