Swan River Woman Dead, Following Single Vehicle Rollover

Swan River RCMP are investigating a fatal single vehicle rollover. Shortly after 9 o'clock Sunday morning, Mounties received a report of a rollover that occurred on River Avenue in Bowsman. The female driver was ejected and was taken to hospital in critical condition, while two other women were treated and released from hospital with minor injuries. The 36-year old Swan River woman driving the vehicle, died from her injuries on Tuesday.

A new court date has been set for an Ochapowace First Nation man, charged with Second Degree Murder, after a death on the reserve. 33-year-old Dustyn Allary was in Broadview Provincial Court yesterday (Wed), where he was remanded in custody to next Wednesday. Last April, Broadview RCMP were called to an Ochapowace residence on a report of an injured man. 32-year-old Elias Still of Ochapowace, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On April 1, Humboldt RCMP received a report of an armed robbery on Highway 5. They say a man allegedly stole a vehicle from a another man, who was pulled over on the side of the road. The suspect was eventually arrested near Watrous. 30-year-old Brandon Burns was in Saskatoon Provincial Court yesterday (Wed), where he had his matters adjourned to April 29 for a bail hearing.

The Yorkton Minor Hockey Advisory panel have announced a new leadership team to guide the Yorkton Kinsmen Maulers U18 AAA hockey program. The panel, led by Derek Serdachny, Dean Serdachny, Dustin Nehring, Dean Sliva, Grant Ottenbreit, and Karsten Wagner have announced Jeremy Palanuik as General Manager and Associate Coach, Josh Garbutt as Assistant GM and Assistant Coach and Jason Gordon will return for another year as Head Coach.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American receiver Jayden Horace. Horace spent the last two seasons playing with Fort Hays State University, where he emerged as one of the top receivers in the program. In his senior season, he played in eleven games, catching 56 passes for 704 yards and eight touchdowns. The six-foot-one, 180-pound receiver earned the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association honourable-mention recognition in 2023.
