Materials and methodsCD patients aged between 18 and 70 years of age were recruited (online supplemental table 1). Participants were enrolled from April 2019 to March 2022. A diagnosis of CD was based on the presence of small intestinal villous atrophy associated with positive CD serology and a supportive clinical history.
