The Ketchikan Daily News serves as the main daily newspaper for Ketchikan, Alaska, and has been in operation since 1934. Lew Williams, Jr. took on the role of managing editor in 1966 and was a prominent opinion columnist recognized throughout Alaska. His columns, which initially appeared in the Anchorage Times, were frequently featured in various Alaskan newspapers until his passing. Today, the paper is managed by his family, including his son, Lew Williams III, who is currently the mayor of Ketchikan.
