    The Ketchikan Gateway Borough School Board on Wednesday voted unanimously without discussion to create a health insurance task force "to study options to rein in future increases in health insurance costs," under the new business portion of its meeting. According to the April 30, 2025,  fiscal year 2026 budget posted on the Ketchikan Gateway School District website, health insurance, life insurance and on-behalf retirement payments are estimated to cost $14,351,548.
