River Smith's has been serving Lubbock since 1976.  That's 49 years of quality seafood on Avenue Q. It is certainly what we call in the south "Deep Fried And Sanctified". I am very peculiar about restaurants, in fact, it is frequent topic on my morning show in Lubbock. I'm trying to expand my horizons, but one of my core five or so restaurants is River Smith's. River Smith's is very clean and full of a staff that hustles.

I refuse to sit still while Texas does not hold the record for the biggest taco. Not only does Texas not have the record, the United States does not have the record. This is a travesty that must be corrected. Texas pride has taken a beating lately. I offer up a chance to step up on that center block and receive our laurels as the makers of the world's largest taco. I tend to think of burritos as having beans or rice in them and tacos being mostly meat.

Lubbock, Texas, certainly turns out for a bit of naughty fun. The RockShow had participants "Ruin a movie title by adding the word "boner" to it". We were not disappointed. Lubbock loves its morning show, and we certainly love it. We've built a whole show around audience participation, and it's much appreciated. We challenge them nearly every weekday with a new question, and we're never disappointed. Read More: What Fun Functions Would Texans Choose For Their Belly Buttons?

Lubbock, Texas is known for hot summers, but this year we may topple some records. Both professionals and the more folksy experts predict that this year will be very hot in the Hub City. Lubbock is currently enjoying a raining period. In fact, it's been so rainy there's a wee bit of a mold smell when it's not raining. The rain is perfectly timed for farming, but keeping those crops from withering in the sun this summer may be a chore.

Lubbock loves restaurants, but usually for a short time. It can be only the littlest of things that can take a place from packed to desolate in nothing flat. I was motoring around the Loop yesterday at around 5:00. Yes, it was a Sunday, but you'd still think that the newer restaurants would show some signs of life. I saw a new restaurant I was meaning to try and thought, "oh, that's where that is".
