Kieler Nachrichten

Kieler Nachrichten, often referred to as KN, is the sole German-language newspaper operating in Kiel, Germany. It is published by "Kieler Zeitung Verlags und Druckerei KG-GmbH & Co.", which is a part of Axel Springer AG, owning a 24.5 percent stake in the company. The newspaper's headquarters is situated at Asmus-Bremer-Platz, conveniently located between Holstenstraße and the Kiel city hall. The inaugural issue of the KN was released on April 3, 1946, with approval from the British authorities during their occupation of Germany after World War II. The newspaper views itself as a continuation of the Kieler Zeitung, established in 1864, and the Kieler Neueste Nachrichten, which began in 1894.
