    (Fergus Falls, MN)--Police in Fergus Falls have confirmed that a medium sized black bear was sighted in the area late last week. According to the report, a sighting was reported at Pebble Lake Golf Course last Friday. The DNR and other authorities are reporting more and more bear sightings in the region as bears have moved further south over the years. Bears have been spotted in past years in Douglas County and other areas.

A spotter just northwest of Alexandria reported .68 inches of rainfall during yesterday's storms. Other rainfall totals include: Carlos .59 inches, Sauk Centre .58 inches, Glenwood .57 inches, Starbuck .56 inches, Underwood .40 inches, and Deer Creek .32 inches of rain. The state of Minnesota could see some additional rain moving in Thursday and Friday.

An Air Quality Alert will remain in effect through 9 a.m. Wednesday morning for our area. The MPCA has issued an Air Quality Alert for fine particles pollution and ground-level ozone. The Air Quality Index (AQI) is expected to reach the Red or Unhealthy category.
