FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Fargo Public Schools has announced the assignment of Sean Safranski as principal of Davies High School. Safranski is currently serving as an assistant principal at Davies, a role he has had since 2013. His career in education began in 1999 as an eighth grade Earth Science teacher at West Fargo Middle School. From 2004-2013, he was the principal of Shanley High School and Sullivan Middle School in the John Paul II Catholic Schools Network.
Fargo city engineer urges renewal of tax to maintain roads, water system

Fargo, N.D. – Fargo’s city engineer is starting to get the word out about the need to continue using a portion of city sales tax revenue to cover the cost of roadwork and water projects. The voter-approved 1-percent infrastructure sales tax has been in place since 2009, but is set to expire at the end of 2028. “Without that sales tax, we’d have to find other way to pay for [projects],” City Engineer Tom Knakmuhs told Flag Family News.

Mary Peterson was sentenced to 90 days in prison, with credit for 41 days served, followed by 3 years of probation. Additionally, she’s been ordered to pay $828,357.15 in restitution. Peterson was charged with stealing that amount of money from her former employer, Lunde Auto, over a period of 7 years.

Terrell Smith will spend 30 days in Cass County jail and was also sentenced to two years of probation for being an accomplice to aggravated assault. He had previously entered an Alford Plea, dropping a charge for aggravated assault in the process. Smith was one of six people arrested in connection to a group beating in April, 2024.
Cass County motorcyclist dies during weekend crash in western ND

Dunn County, N.D. – Authorities say a Cass County senior citizen who was riding a motorcycle last weekend in western North Dakota died in a crash. North Dakota Highway Patrol says the 71-year old from Gardner was trying to negotiate a curve this past Saturday along Highway 22 north of Killdeer in Dunn County where he lost control and overturned. The victim, who was wearing a helmet at the time, died from injuries. Little else is known yet about the case, including the man’s identity.
