Randall Man Hurt After Being Pinned Underneath Tractor

(KNSI) – A 60-year-old man from Randall was airlifted to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital after a farm accident Friday evening. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office says Carl Wainman fell off his tractor just before 6:30 when he was trying to put it into gear. The tractor then rolled over him, and he became pinned between the rear tire and the chisel plow. Relatives rushed to help and were able to free Wainman from underneath the equipment.

Tritium is a compound that emits low levels of radiation, is naturally present in the environment and is commonly created in the operation of nuclear power plants.

Some of the activities are hands-on, others more educational. There will also be a chance to meet personnel from three different county departments. At Quarry Number 2, there’s an opportunity to try out rock climbing. Touch a Truck is happening at Number 5, with fishing at 13, and create charcoal art at Number 10.
One Lane of 10th Avenue North in St. Cloud to Close Thursday

(KNSI) – Crews will be completing planned utility work on Thursday that will shut down a lane of traffic on 10th Avenue. Only one southbound lane will remain open between 1st and 2nd Street North between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The job is a continuation of a project from earlier in the year. Back in February, all northbound lanes were blocked off for several days. Fire Station 1 is located near the construction zone.

(KNSI) — The National Weather Service says the St. Cloud area broke a weather record on Sunday. As of 7:45 p.m., the official daily high hit 93 degrees. The previous record was 90, which was set in 1900. The Twin Cities also set a record high of 90, beating the old one by two degrees. The hot weather will continue through Wednesday with highs in the upper 80s to around 90.

The alert will be in effect from noon on Monday, May 12, through 9:00 p.m.High levels of ground-level ozone are expected during the afternoon and early evening hours. Sunny skies, warm temperatures, and low humidity will create ideal conditions for ozone formation. Ozone levels will be highest during the afternoon when sunshine is strongest and temperatures peak.

The National Weather Service has issued the alert from noon to 9:00 p.m. It warns that the combination of south to southwest winds at 15 mph sustained, and gusting as high as 30, plus warm temperatures and humidity at just 15 percent, will cause any fires that develop to spread rapidly. The office stresses that outdoor burning is not recommended.

(KNSI) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting the St. Cloud Police Department in an investigation following an officer-involved shooting. According to a press release, officers were called to a home on the 600 block of 8th Avenue North around 3:45 Friday afternoon for a domestic dispute. The woman told officers that a man she knew from a previous relationship was threatening her and came at her with his fists like he was going to hit her.
St. Mary Help of Christians Parish to Part Ways with Catholic Community Schools; Future of School in St. Augusta Uncertain

(KNSI) – The Catholic Community School system in St. Cloud is cutting ties with St. Mary Help of Christians School in St. Augusta. According to a letter from Catholic Community Schools President David Fremo, CCS announced on April 7th that the school would be closed due to rising operational costs and declining enrollment. In the wake of that announcement, parents and parishioners asked for time to develop a long-range plan to try and continue operations.
