The Los Altos Town Crier is a community-focused weekly newspaper with a charming location at 138 Main Street in the lovely village of Los Altos. Since its establishment in 1947, it has been dedicated to delivering detailed local news that matters to the affluent residents of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills. The newspaper is distributed every Wednesday, reaching homes directly in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and select parts of Mountain View. With a weekly circulation of 16,500, we proudly serve thousands of paid subscribers, including many from nearby communities and even some from out of state. After over sixty years of consistent publication, the Los Altos Town Crier has become a trusted staple in the community.

    A nice melodic, rock breeze filled Foothill College’s Smithwick Theatre last Saturday. Heavy strums on the guitar, fast drumbeats and chill vibes built the atmosphere and sound of the ninth annual Battle of the Surf Bands. The event was hosted by Foothill College’s independent radio station KFJC 89.7 FM and all the proceeds from the event supported the radio station’s operations, electric bills and equipment.

    The 231 Grant Housing Project, located at 231 Grant Ave. in Palo Alto, is expected to open this June, allowing educators in Santa Clara and San Mateo County school districts to live near their workplaces.  The project, which is in conjunction with the County of Santa Clara, Facebook and Palo Alto, was ratified by former County Supervisor Joe Simitian in 2021. According to the 231 Grant website, the project was first discussed in February 2021 and began construction in July 2023.
