Finnair Flight Cancellations Due To Strikes On May 16 & 19, 2025

Two additional strikes will affect Finnair and other airlines’ traffic at various airports in Finland on May 16 and 19, 2025. It is currently unclear how many employees in customer service, aircraft maintenance, baggage handling, cargo, ground handling operations, and catering are participating, but last time, there were first 600 employees working in ground handling, airline catering, repair, and maintenance and then 300 employees who handled passengers, ground handling, and cargo.

Aegean is a nice little Star Alliance-affiliated airline based in Greece. It used to be extremely easy to achieve Gold status with (your earned tier was never downgraded), but it is still not THAT difficult. I have had a Gold tier with Aegean since 2017, originally to avoid those nasty luggage fees when flying from the Greek islands (Aegean’s Olympic Air is not a Star Alliance airline), and I have found them to be quite okay to work with. United Airlines has launched its May Buy Miles Sale, which allows MileagePlus members to buy miles up to a 95% bonus through May 30, 2025. United Airlines has monthly promotions for buying miles, but they all max out at a 100% bonus or a 50% discount. United has increased the number of miles members can buy in a calendar year from 175,000 to 200,000, and you can sometimes buy even more, like now (up to 250,000).
