Titled Underground house music from a paradise called Portugal, it’s directed by Daniel Mota and features interviews with DJs, producers, dancers, and promoters associated with that nascent scene, as well as previously unseen archival footage, telling its story and impact.

The Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) has announced its full schedule of panels, talks, workshops and performances for its fifth edition, which takes place across May 22 to 23 at Constitution Hill, Johannesburg. The daytime sessions include a Songwriting Workshop hosted by Manana, Bad Weather presenting a Developer Your Live Set masterclass with Jonathan Bandli and Money Badoo, an AlphaTheta DJ workshop led by Rarri, Ms Party, and Lelowhatsgood.

A group of DJs of Burmese heritage and the Burmese diaspora are linking up to throw a fundraiser event for Myanmar earthquake relief in London on May 16. Helmed by Ambient Babestation Meltdown, Izzi and KOSO/DJ Batcum, the event will take place at Aaja Basement and combine food, art and music, with SIIIO and the butcher bird also on the bill. Burmese chef Robert Khaing will serve food and snacks, while Burmese products will be on sale from stalls run by Rice Over Everything and Seint Jewellery.
