    NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls softball team shut out Hopatcong 14-0 on Monday, May 12 when they played them away, and then played away against Kittatinny on Tuesday, May 13 and won 7-4 to take home the NJAC Colonial Division title. This achievement is only the “second softball title in the last 40 years for Newton,” according to head coach Paul Filan. Bella Deleon went 2-for-4 at bat against Kittatinny, with two singles and two runs.
