Hutchison is one of dozens of Penn Middle students who have rehearsed since November for their performance of “Mean Girls Jr.,” slated for April 25 to 27 in the school’s auditorium. “The message of the actual show is very beautiful,” said Hutchison, who will portray lead role Cady Heron.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be without Tim Mayza for a significant amount of time, as the left-handed reliever is being shut down from throwing for six weeks due to a shoulder lat muscle strain and teres major injury. Surprised by this week’s rise in temperatures? According to the National Weather Service’s Pittsburgh office in Moon, there is some validity to that reaction. Temperatures are forecast to reach into the low 80s on Thursday, with a 30% chance of going above 82 degrees, said meteorologist Liana Lupo. Late April typically sees average lows in the mid 40s and average highs near 65 degrees. “I wouldn’t call it abnormal to see 80 degrees,” Lupo said.
