Officers were sent to the 2200 block of Market Street around 10 p.m. for reports of shots fired and a person struck, a police report said. When police arrived in the area, they found a man who had been shot at least once. The man was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, but his condition is not known at this time.

In response to a growing number of emergency calls, the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors met on Tuesday to discuss the hiring of 10 paid firefighters to assist the township’s three volunteer fire agencies.
