    The University of Newcastle’s (UoN) strong commitment to sustainability has landed them in second place for climate action globally. A recent analysis conducted in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact (THE) Rankings looked at more than 2,300 universities worldwide. Based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, institutions are graded on how they are progressing towards each of the 17 targets. And, UoN seemed to be charging ahead in several areas.
