The Newcastle Herald, often referred to as The Herald, is a daily tabloid newspaper that comes out from Monday to Saturday. It is based in Newcastle, New South Wales, which is the largest city in Australia that is not a capital city. This newspaper is unique as it is the sole local publication serving the wider Hunter Region and Central Coast area six days a week. The Herald is owned by Fairfax Media.
