    SWANTON — Playing baseball has always been a family affair for Swanton senior Adam Lemon. Starting to play the game at an early age, Lemon’s father, Jonathan Lemon, and grandfather, Tom Shelly, were his first coaches. His dad has been an assistant coach for the Bulldogs the past three seasons. “I have played since I was five years old,” said Adam Lemon. “It’s something I have enjoyed for the longest time. My dad, mom and grandad always pushed me to do better.

    NAPOLEON — The Wildcats scored in every inning and Trey Rubinstein pitched a complete game, as Napoleon defeated Springfield 12-2 in five innings during a Northern Lakes League Cardinal Division game Monday at Booster Field at Napoleon High School. Napoleon jumped to an early lead with four runs in the first inning. The Cats added a run in each the second and third innings and then closed the game with three runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to force the mercy rule.

    CINCINNATI (AP) — Cal Raleigh hit two more homers and Bryce Miller pitched five sharp innings, helping the Seattle Mariners beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 on Wednesday night. Raleigh hit a solo drive from each side of the plate. The catcher has five homers in his last five games, giving him 100 for his career. Dylan Moore had two hits and scored two runs for the Mariners in their fifth win in six games. Randy Arozarena and J.P. Crawford each had two hits and drove in a run.

    By Jeffery RatliffNorthwest SignalNAPOLEON — Napoleon sent 15 batters to the plate — 10 before recording an out — in the sixth inning, scoring 12 runs to erase Bowling Green’s 5-3 lead and post a 15-5 win Monday night at Booster Field on the campus of Napoleon High School. Napoleon (4-1) had nine hits in the inning, including three bunt singles and two more infield hits. The Wildcats also took advantage of three Bobcat errors in the inning. Bowling Green (4-6) had eight total errors in the game.
